Trained on both Helicopter & Fixed-wing, my role as Aircrew Mission Specialist covers many aspects of flying both in the front seat assisting the handling pilot with avionics & rear station Mission Commander operating highly sensitive sensor equipment.My front seat flying duties include;-Assisting the pilot in every aspect of flying such as, Aircraft pre flight inspection, programming FMS, monitoring all traffic radios & Weather Radar, look-out, monitoring aircraft systems, Navigation, assisting in emergencies.-Writing and submitting flight plans to air traffic control -Calculating Aircraft C of G & booking the required fuelAs a Mission Commander my duties include;-Coordinating the Aircrafts position by instructing the handling Pilot to make adjustments-Occasionally preparing & conducting the out brief for training and tasking-Liaising with the stakeholder for mission planning, interpreting current meteorological data, planning detailed routes in busy Airspace, leasing with Engineers, booking and preparing all required survival equipment, encoding sensitive sensor data for critical airborne tasking.

This position of working in the Tactical Operations Room ran alongside my current Aircrew flying role and some of my duties included;-Planning daily Operational and future tasking, including liaising with government stakeholders-Personally showcasing our capabilities to high raking officers and occasionally members of parliament-Managing data collection for crew and Aircraft flying hours for the use of future planning and execution-Assessing environmental conditions for daily and future tasking -Updating Standing Operating Procedures

Responsible for the day to day running of a busy 24/7 Operational airfield whilst managing and mentoring a team of Flight Planners & Assistants.Key roles included;-Managing a well versatile team in a high tempo mission critical Operations Room-Forward planning and logistical support of large fleets of sensitive multi role Aircraft -Provide leadership and critical thinking in high-tempo situations such as real Aircraft emergencies -Minimising any flying disruption caused my Snow/Ice by liaising with Meteorological and Ground handling services promptly to ensure no effect to Operational flying activities-Coordinating future movements of personnel/equipment and Aircraft domestically and internationally-Insuring flight planning was up to date with the latest information and publications in accordance with regulations -Ensuing all accounts were well managed and the payment of services was paid promptly and accurately-Daily accounting/servicing of sensitive equipment with accurate record keeping -Managing airfield maintenance ensuring workforce were safe and adhering regulations & air operations were not effected A memorable time in this role was the mammoth challenge of being the host airfield of a G8 summit, some of the difficult tasks were;-Coordinating the movement of VVIP’s from their Aircraft, to a fleet of shuttling 109 Helicopters-Hosing the security service personnel of world dignitaries and their associated attack Aircraft-Managing a security communications network in the event of a terrorist attack

Managed a highly skilled & motivated team of Operations Assistances on a 6 month deployment to the largest Military training area in Canada. This world class 3000km2 live firing range requires a fleet of Gazelle Helicopters to extract real time casualties and a fully equipped Operations centre to coordinate Aircraft movements These duties included;-Reporting directly to the Officer Commanding and Senior Pilots Day & Night to ensure all Operations activities were conducted promptly and professionally at all times -Analyse emergency situations ensuring I was clear and concise with instructions to my team -Coordinated and published duty 24/7 rosters to support Helicopter Casualty Evacuation Operations accurately in accordance with crew duty hours-Leasing with Engineering departments to ensure serviceable Aircraft were available for Training & Operational flying duties -Supporting team members with all aspects of work and personal administration to ensure we achieved a high state of readiness and Operational output-Consulted with stakeholders to insure all mapping was up to date, ensuring the safety of the crew and Aircraft

Leading teams to set up remote strategic communications networks for the Data/Video/Voice downlink of both Helicopter and Fixed-Wing Aircraft. This involved consulting with multiple Government agencies to coordinate the setup of temporary command and control centres.My main responsibilities were;-Managing my team to ensure they were always ready for deployment 24/7-Forward planning with seniors to ensure capabilities could be met in every environment -Ensuring that equipment was well maintained & serviceable to meet all requirements -Communication with stakeholders on a regular basis to update capabilities and foward planning-Coordinate the installation of Downlinking/Communication equipment, often in confined areas-Assessing feasibility of future operations regularly with stakeholders and travelling to various locations in order to gain a larger insight This was both a domestic and international role which included the forward logistical planning of multiple Aircraft, Personal and equipmentOne of my noteworthy achievements was a successful deployment to Afghanistan on the initial setup team. This included regular communication with key Stakeholders for the implementation of sensitive equipment and forward planning of Aircraft.

Responsible for the planning and implementation of ground to air communications networks to a wide range of complex military platforms in an array of challenging environments.Some of my roles Included;-Managing Integrated software for a wide range of applications to assist in the operational tasking for various tactical aircraft.-Leading a team of 5 people and responsible for the forward planning/Accounting/Logistics of personnel to re-locate at short notice around the world. -Liaising with project stakeholders to ensure effective relaying of sensitive/mission critical data and instructions.-Responsible for the storage and distribution of highly sensitive mission critical cryptographic material
