NSW Telco Authority delivers critical communications solutions to first responders and essential services to keep people and places in NSW safe. In addition, NSWTA has recently developed the NSW Connectivity Strategy to align and optimise state-wide programs that will narrow the digital divide and lift digital equity for all customers in NSW, especially in regional communities.The Director of Product at the NSW Telco Authority has responsibility for the delivery of the product roadmap included in the NSW Operational Communications Strategy. In addition the role has carriage of innovation and experimentation to better understand the communication and connectivity demands of emergency services organisations and the community during major incidents, natural disasters, and in circumstances where no technology is currently available.By gaining learnings and insights from these experiments, the NSWTA product team helps inform and guide future investment in next generation connectivity solutions, as well as the ongoing development of connectivity products and services - whether that be networks, platforms or applications. Solutions and technology currently being researched and prototyped include emerging satellite solutions, as well as MESH WiFi and nomadic connectivity solutions.

Launched in 2021, the Connectivity Innovation Network (CIN) is a ground-breaking initiative of the New South Wales Government developed by the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer and NSW Telco Authority.Jointly led by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and the University of Sydney, the Connectivity Innovation Network brings together national and globally recognised expertise, researchers and industry to solve connectivity challenges and deliver improved digital outcomes for NSW citizens.Current challenges being investigated include resilient communications, ubiquitous connectivity, AI and cyber automation, and sensors.
