I worked with businesses to help them grow and succeed on AWS, whether that be with people, process, or technology. I led the North American portion of a global tech team supporting a large Fortune 500. I introduce repeatable process to help our team scale and worked directly with my customer to design, argue, and successfully build scalable solutions on AWS. I've helped ArenaNet launch Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire on AWS, Trulia launch a fully serverless rental leads system, given talks on DevSecOps, developed workshops on both containers and multi-region architecture. I was also a founding member of our DevOps/Management Tools technical communities which are now thriving inside AWS.

I helped customers troubleshoot and solve technical issues anywhere in the stack, from app code to underlying hardware and everything in between. I focused on scaling mechanisms and founded the deployment management services specialization, mentored new grads to help them become engineers, and bootstrapped the AWS Support Beijing site.

• Provided client-centered solutions for all client needs ranging from desktop virus removal to security camera system maintenance • Maintained professional communication and contact relationships with existing clients • Aided clients remotely through desktop sharing and remote assistance to better use time and save client time and money • Provided small businesses with on call IT support and consulting • Suggesting ideas and solutions based on client needs such as hosting services and advertisement services

• Initiated a complete rewrite of the existing vehicle reservation system to a new system using PHP and PostgreSQL which is currently still in use and considered to be a very large improvement over the previous system• Collaborated with a member of the IT Service desk to design and develop the back end database as well as the front end to conform to the Environment Canada common look and feel standards• Created tables and relationships from scratch without the use of any automated tools • Designed the vehicle reservation system to allow for future integration of warehouse inventory reservations• Monitored over 30 remote sites to ensure IP cameras are up and running to ensure safety of pilots and other users of weather cameras • Serviced and maintained cameras needed as an operational requirement for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games while devising new methods to deploy and monitor the cameras more efficiently thus resulting in techs being able to leave the office less• Demonstrated independence by servicing cameras in remote locations all over British Columbia by myself with little guidance from other techs• Oversaw the IT operations of the entire Richmond office which housed over 50 people
