Resident Engineer for the $2.3B Crenshaw/LAX Corridor Metro project, worked on 2 underground guide-ways, 3 underground stations, and a 2 mile long bored tunnel:• Ensured that the Contractors extended full cooperation in the implementation of utility and agency agreements and that the respective activities were fully coordinated with various Federal, City, and State agencies.• Responsible for monitoring, documenting, and inspecting construction work being performed at Exposition Station, Martin Luther King Jr. Station, Leimert Park Station, Underground Guideway 4, and Underground Guideway 3.• Responsible for managing the ongoing construction to ensure that the construction is accomplished in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering, safety, and quality assurance practices.• Ensured that a resolution was always expedited on issues that arose in regards to the quality and acceptability of materials furnished and work performed.• Reviewed pay estimates and ensured that the contractor provided sufficient back-up to support monthly and final payment.• Reviewed and approved CPM schedule, 6 week look ahead, and monthly schedule updates to ensure that the contractor was on schedule and all potential delays were captured with supporting documents and justification.• Reviewed, documented, approved, and negotiated RFI, RFC, and Change Orders in an expedited manner to mitigate any potential delay to the project.• Reviewed and approved submittals such as, but not limited to, construction work plans, material submittals, shop drawings, and design drawings.• Tracked/created daily and weekly reports of the construction progress for Metro management.

Project Engineer/Environmental Specialist for the Port of Los Angeles Interstate 110/C Street Interchange Project which included a northbound off-ramp for direct access to Harry Bridges Boulevard, modification of the northbound on-ramp from C Street, realignment of Harry Bridges Boulevard, and combining the I-110 ramp terminal/C Street/Figueroa Street intersection with the John S. Gibson Boulevard/Harry Bridges Boulevard intersection.• Prepared quantity calculation sheets, source documents, and followed local agency procedures for substantiating, authorizing, processing, and administering progress payments.• Coordinated the review, negotiation, and approval of change orders with the Resident engineer, local agencies, structure oversight engineer, designer of record, and with the Office of Special Funded Project liaison engineer.• Obtained deck contours from the designer (4-scale), ensured that the deck contour a true to scale, and plotted the limits of girders, footings, columns, and abutments on the 4-scale.• Reviewed the contractor’s environmental BMPs and SWPPP submittals to ensure that the project was in compliance with Federal and State storm water regulations.• Inspected project site weekly to verify that all BMPs were installed per contract.• Verified that all project-wide construction equipment met or exceeded the stringent environmental requirement set forth by the Port of Los Angeles.• Reviewed, accepted, and rejected potential contaminated/hazardous soil per contract and/or Federal and State requirements. • Assisted the structures representative on the independent check on the contractor’s falsework design submittal and inspected falsework erection for structural integrity and safety as the falsework spanned over live traffic on Harry Bridges Boulevard.
