Within this internship I had the opportunity to learn about probation from first hand experience. My placement was in the UNITY unit but I also learned about other units. As an intern I had a chance to observe and conduct interviews with the individuals on probation which allowed me to both learn as a student in CJ and learn more about the individual. In addition, I had a chance to assist with the preparation of written reports and warrants, attend court proceedings, and attend trips to other Criminal Justice oriented departments in Connecticut.
