I advocate for DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) in academia by undertaking initiatives for Latinxs in STEM, especially for Chemical Engineering and Geosciences. I am pragmatic when teaching, always trying to help my students to enhance their learning, such as problem- and project-based learning. I am a final-year PhD student in #Petrophysics at the Institute of Applied Geosciences, School of Earth and Environment at the University of Leeds. My research involves applying innovative laboratory techniques to estimate the petrophysical properties of tight gas and calibrate them in well-log interpretation. Since 2015, I work as a full-time lecturer at the Chemical Engineering Department of the Universidad de Magallanes, Chilean Patagonia. My teaching areas are unit operations, computational process simulation, project engineering, and process safety. Additionally, I supervised undergrad theses in process simulation.Additionally, I am part of the Mentoring Subcommittee of GeoLatinas and collaborate with planeteando.org to translate Eos.org articles from English to Latin Spanish. Also, I am part of the Female Engineering Faculty Association.I offer professional development and technical topics of my speciality talks to undergrad students.
