In March 2020, I was fortunate to be a Trainee Law Clerk and Administrative Assistant in Madgwicks Property Team. The team specialised in high volume telecommunications leasing and licensing transactions for one of Australia’s largest telecommunication providers and developed innovative leasing solutions unique to the carrier which increased efficiencies and accuracies.

Based in the Melbourne CBD, Deakin Law Clinic aims to provide pro bono legal advice, assistance and information to the vulnerable and disadvantaged in the following areas of law, Civil and Commercial Law, Criminal Law, Employment Law, Family Law and Venture Law. Deakin Law Clinic is a teaching law firm that provides legal placement for advanced students under the supervision of qualified legal practitioners for students to build legal skills that underpin their academic training.

I temporarily was a receptionist at Toyota Chadstone due to the original receptionist going on holidays for four weeks. Throughout my time at Toyota Chadstone I received a different aspect of customer assistance. I would answer and transfer calls, book appointments, work on the computer as well as offer friendly service for walk-in customers. I really enjoyed this aspect of customer service and I thoroughly enjoyed working at Toyota as the other workers were very welcoming and friendly. Overall, from this experience I have learnt the importance of confidence when speaking to others, whether it would be on the phone or in person and have learnt the vital importance of customer service and how important it is to maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
