I mainly practice Business, Corporate, and Consumer Finance law. I have given Consumer Law advice regarding credit reporting, debt collection, consumer finance, bankruptcy, and other various consumer protection actions. Most of these services were provided pro bono to indigent clients. I have done business entity formations and drafted and filed governing documents. I have also reviewed purchase agreements, governing documents, and given general business law advice.

My primary responsibility is managing the Marketing Review team and answering a wide range of regulatory compliance, legal, and business questions that arise as part of reviewing the business' marketing assets. For example, Regulations DD, E, P, the E-Sign Act, UDAAP considerations, and various FTC advertising guidance. I also review materials firsthand for specialized partner products, newly launching products or features, and all of our internal and external sweepstakes terms. I have also successfully written new procedures that have been adopted by third-party partners, our bank partners, and the business, including, but not limited to, Influencer Guidelines and new Digital Marketing Guidelines. I sometimes write memos regarding new proposed regulatory rules in plain language such that they can be read and understood by various leadership groups throughout the enterprise.I am responsible for managing our internal Disclosure Library to keep disclosures relevant and ready to use for our various teams, including the marketing team.I am also responsible for training new Marketing Reviewers and Contractors to be able to review marketing assets in a compliant manner while also taking into account our internal company knowledge, processes, procedures, and business needs. I have created numerous training reference materials and a training program for this team.I also recently took on managing the Licensing team. I am responsible for helping with licensing requirements research and responding to regulators and exams.I am also a member of the Netspend Gaming Committee. We plan various activities throughout the year, many times with other company ERGs to provide organized games and activities for company social events. For National Video Game Day, I hosted a Guardians of the Galaxy Telltale series on the Netspend Twitch channel. We also recently raised $12,000 in a 24-hour straight charity stream for the benefit of Dell Children's Hospital.

I responded to regulatory questions on the Compliance Alliance Hotline through chats, emails, and phone calls on various consumer finance laws and regulations such as Regulations B, C, D, DD, E, O, P, Z, GLBA, TISA, TILA, SCRA, MLA, FCRA, FCTA, the E-Sign Act, and UDAAP concerns.I was also responsible for regularly updating tools on the C/A website, compiling FAQs, writing summaries of upcoming or recently changed laws and regulations, and writing articles for our proprietary magazine, weekly newsletters, and various State Banking Association (SBA) Magazines.I also conducted webinars and presented at conferences on regulatory topics. I was team lead for a team of 5 other attorneys when management was out of the office; responsible for answering questions, training 3 other attorneys, and scheduling.Compliance Alliance is a subsidiary of Texas Bankers Association. Texas Legal Services Center is a non-profit organization that provides free attorney representation, legal advice, and information that can help those who are representing themselves. I volunteered as a Live Chat agent to communicate with pro se website visitors to assist them with locating applicable handbooks, information pages, and forms on the TexasLawHelp.org website for their specific legal issue, via online chat.I personally assisted over 600 pro se visitors in aggregate (both as a student volunteer and as an attorney volunteer).

DealerSocket acquired AutoStar Solutions on May 1, 2015.I was responsible for conducting legal research and writing, contract revisions, and answering legal and compliance questions.I reviewed current practices and procedures in our two legacy softwares, conducted appropriate legal research, and wrote recommendations for the new software platform. Acted as a liaison between the legal and programming departments by attending daily programming SCRUM meetings to ensure product development is compliant with state and federal consumer protection laws.Acted as a Compliance Specialist by managing projects associated with regulatory (CFPB or state) audits of our clients by reviewing the regulatory agency report or CID and working with the Assistant General Counsel, Tech Support, and Programming Departments to respond accordingly.
