Artist And Founder Of The Art Activities

Dwingeloo Radio Telescope

Dwingeloo

From 2009 to 2019 I have been based at the Dwingeloo radio telescope, where I developed innovative art projects, such as OPTICKS (www.opticks.info) and 'COGITO in Space' (www.cogitoinspace.org) amongst others, for which the cabin of the radio telescope is used as the stage for live interactive performances. For OPTICKS I developed an innovative application of the Moonbounce technology that I call Visual Moonbounce, consisting in sending and receiving images as radio waves, using the Moon as a natural satellite. In 'COGITO in Space' I combine cutting edge neuroscience and radio technologies through a rigorous scientific and artistic process. Both OPTICKS and 'COGITO in Space' are now travelling internationally. In 2009 I also initiated the art activities at the Dwingeloo radio telescope, that I have been coordinating until September 2018. During my ten years research at the radio telescope I invited international artists to work at the facilities, establishing the reputation of the Dwingeloo radio telescope in the cultural fields and promoting the hobby of amateur radio amongst the general public and the professional art world. The legacy of my work at the radio telescope has been influential for other artists working at the facilities.
