Daniela Espino is Managing Director, Community Engagement and Talent Innovation at Teach for America Bay Area. Daniela brings a unique and diverse background in education policy and advocacy, political engagement, non-profits, leadership development, and K-12 education. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with her undergraduate degree in legal studies and education, Daniela served as a Teach for America corps member teaching 10th and 11th grade English and AP English in Richmond, CA. She then joined the Teach for America Bay Area team and supported 30+ first and second year teachers to deliver rigorous and standards-aligned instruction within a positive classroom environment. Daniela’s passion for serving others led her to arrive in her current role as Managing Director, Community Engagement and Talent Innovation. She works to create and steward the community engagement strategy, influence education elected officials to become champions of our work, analyze policy, and partner with the national recruitment team to recruit a powerful, diverse corps into the organization. Daniela received her Masters of Arts in Education Policy and Administration from Loyola Marymount University to learn the policy analysis and engagement skills needed to be a strong advocate for an excellent education for all students. As a proud Bay Area native, Daniela works to improve the community by empowering our youth to grow and continue their impact.
