Senior Department Head charged with effective management of 1,200 Sailors organized into 37 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Platoons and five Diving and Salvage Companies.- Supervised and led a staff of eight personnel providing guidance to seven operational and training commands. - Directly led the daily utilization of units in support of global U.S. and international military commanders as well as Federal, State, and Civilian authorities. Directed the underwater search and recovery of a sunken U.S. Marine Corps amphibious assault vehicle, an extensive search for a U.S. Air Force servicemember lost at sea, and the recovery of a U.S. Air Force jet lost off the coast of Great Britain.- Led a cross functional team of Sailors and Civilians to optimize use of limited facilities which increased security of sensitive items and improved organizational workflow and mobility.

Served as a senior military leader and Explosive Ordnance Disposal advisor to the U.S. Department of State. Concurrently served as the Department of Defense Coordinator and lead business development program manager for the Interagency Man Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS) Task Force. Provided technical expertise, contract negotiation, and geo-political solutions to reduce the harmful consequences of theft and indiscriminate use of shoulder fired missiles (i.e. STINGER) by terrorist groups, extremists, and arms trafficking organizations.- Instituted direct interaction with foreign governments via U.S. Embassies to identify poorly secured weapons and coordinate supervised stockpile reduction through host nation demolition. Executed cooperative agreements with allies valued at over $3M eliminating over 10,000 weapons and munitions.- Served as the lead U.S. representative to the United Nations during the International Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Standards Conference. Provided technical briefings and participated in working groups to develop and implement universal IED search and mitigation procedures.- Supported National Security Council Aviation Security Policy and received federal government Superior Honor Award for efforts to mitigate international MANPADS threats.

Second in Command of 166 personnel and accountable for the planning and execution of salvage, deep-water diving, underwater repair of naval vessels, and harbor/navigation channel clearance operations.- Led Command through 15 consecutive months of incident-free reporting earning consecutive retention excellence awards, exceptional medical readiness recognition, a discrepancy-free Explosive Safety Inspection and the first ever Command Battle Effectiveness award for sustained superior operational performance.- Guided the successful completion of six deployments, nine major fleet exercises, and ten operational missions in support of Senior Commanders, Defense POW/MIA, and U.S. Secret Service, including three weeks of arctic ice diving and the successful salvage of a Civil War Ironclad Warship (CSS GEORGIA). Led diving efforts as acting Commanding Officer to salvage two crashed naval helicopters and the recovery of air crew from the James River. - Spearheaded Command-wide efforts earning scores of 90% during annual diving and maintenance assessments.

Led six personnel in financial management and acquisition of conventional tools and advanced technologies.- Competitively selected as #1 of 32 Officers despite only four months on staff.- Supervised $570M portfolio influencing acquisition efforts and advancing relationships with suppliers/customers.- Represented C-Suite leadership at the International Mine Warfare Technology Symposium and selected to serve as Chairman of the Operations Working Group at the annual Mine Warfare Improvement Program.

- Directed global utilization of 13 combat ready EOD platoons in support of Global War on Terror missions, mine countermeasures operations and regional shore based naval facility support.- Led organization in fleet wide mine countermeasures exercise necessitating management, employment, and accountability of 120 personnel from six U.S. and U.K. Navy commands executing surface and underwater operations. - Coordinated support to 50 U.S. Secret Service support missions and earned score of 96% during Naval Integrated Exercise 13-1 – a score that raised the bar and exceeded the training average by seven points.

M.A. Homeland Defense/National Security

- Ranked #1 of 6 Lieutenants. Led a highly specialized EOD Platoon through multi-national training and deployment in support of zero failure national level special operations. - Led deployed EOD forces in combat in southeastern Afghanistan in support of NATO International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) enabling freedom of maneuver through removal of IEDs and unexploded ordnance.

- Led a team of 21 Sailors through shipboard exercises and real world operations in support of hydrographic surveys and underwater mine detection and prosecution.- Selected within Commander, Mine Warfare Command as Navy League Junior Officer of the Year 2004. Qualified Officer of the Deck, Surface Warfare Officer, and Mine Warfare Evaluator.
