Daniela is the Co-Founder and CTO of Bac3Gel, a startup developing and distributing the new generation of substrates to harness the full power of microorganisms. Bac3Gel underlying technology was developed within her PhD with which Daniela has been awarded with different innovation and technological prizes, among which the EIT Health Headstart Programme, Switch2Product Innovation Challenge and the HealthTechTAB.At Bac3Gel, she has translated the technology into a product line and she interfaces with end-users to further improve them, while understanding how the technology can fulfil gaps in the microbiome market.She is an active collaborator of the Collaborative Online International Learning: “Your career opportunities in the world in the sectors of Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Nutrition and Dietetics”, where she interfaces with international students to widen their vision on how their knowledge can be transversal to different market opportunities, but to also instigate them towards innovation and entrepreneurship.Daniela has experience on different subjects related to biomaterial science and technology, drug delivery, tissue engineering and engineered tissue models for drug screening to recreate in vitro bacterial niches.
