Architected and developed a File Manager component to augment Salesforce screens with the ability to associate files. Integrated with box.com for the backend storage for the files. Front end uses Vue 3 and Syncfusion. Backend was developed using .Net 8, Entity Framework Code First, REST, microservices, Azure SQL Server, and Redis Cache. Developed a small Windows system tray application using WinForms that allows files to be edited on the user’s desktop without the need to separately download and re-upload files using their browser.

Lead development efforts to refactor and replace existing back-end architecture with a new micro-service-based architecture. Built micro-services from the ground up using Web API, C#, and .Net 6 to replace existing thick client and WCF services functionality. All new modules have Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines that are deployable to Azure. Optimized price synthesis to millisecond for trading of precious metals. Secured services using Azure Active Directory, Azure App Registrations, OAuth2 and JWT. I implemented logging using Application Insights. Inter-micro-service communication was implemented using Azure Service Bus.

Lead an Agile team through two-week development sprints. The team was comprised of 5 developers, 4 quality assurance professional and a business analyst. Development was in C# within Docker containers. Final product can run equally well on Linux or Windows. I lead daily stand-up meetings and retrospective and planning ceremonies. Daily activities include helping code C# on the more difficult user stores, refining stories with the business analyst, and coordinating intra-team development efforts.

Developed an e-commerce extranet web application for a Fortune 200 company engaged in the distribution of industrial automotive replacement parts, office products and electrical/electronic materials. The web application sees burst activity of up to $4M per event, with events lasting 2 to 4 days.Rewrite five existing ASP.Net jQuery web applications by upgrading them all or in part to Angular 12 Single Page Applications (SPA). Quickly became familiar with WRT’s service oriented architecture (SOA) which had been under development for several years and became a contributing member of a fast paced development process following Agile methodologies. Used Team Foundation Server (TFS) to track issues and source code. Participated in daily scrums with WRT's multiple locations.

Designed and implemented additional functionality for MEDRAD’s existing informatics platform to include additional input and output interfaces for their proprietary medical imaging devices, and other devices found in the medical imaging facilities using DICOM.- Implemented a packet sniffer to analyze and capture information from cardio-vascular contrast injectors.- Modified and added C#/ASP.Net code for additional functionality specific to the cardio-vascular realm.- Implemented a timeline driven chart using MS Chart.Net for contrast injections.- Implemented support for wireless connectivity using Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) and ad hoc 802.11 wireless networks.- Started and lead a new development team.- Identified and implemented use of software development tools, processes, and resources for software development team. - Built customized Windows 7 Embedded Standard images using Image Configuration Editor.

Software development to support clinical research projects. Continued the work I had begun at Immune Tolerance when Rho assumed stewardship of the informatics data and applications.

At Immune Tolerance Network I served as the lead software developer for a group of four developers. During my time at ITN I defined an XML Schema used to standardize human immunosuppressant medical trial participant visit data. I also standardized the development architecture to use Microsoft technologies: Visual Studio 2008, C#, ASP.Net, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, Windows Communication Framework web services. I architected and implemented a single-sign-on architecture to a myriad of intranet and extranet systems. I oversaw the overall system software architecture and infrastructure.

Performed consultant work with Immune Tolerance Network/UCSF through Whetstone Software to develop version 2 of their Participant Visit Tracking system. PVT2 was a complete rewrite using C#, ASP.Net WebForms, Windows Communication Framework, ADO.Net, and SQL Server. I designed PVT2 as an electronic forms application and added additional intelligence to their workflow options by including a server side JavaScript engine.

At General Dynamics I worked on a variety of federal government contracts in the surveillance and reconnaissance domain developing new software and extending existing applications. I applied the data mining and visualization techniques I had learned earlier in my career at a leading marketing analysis firm. Projects included real time analysis of medical data to detect early onsets of epidemics, human effects analysis of chemical and biological weapons based on current geographical and meteorological conditions, and tracking of International Atomic Energy Agency inspections. Development most often was performed using open source technologies, mainly focusing around the Java programming language.I designed and developed large software components, interfaced with clients, specified hardware and software requirements, and supported research efforts for the projects in which I was involved.

Contracted with iCoria to develop a test harness for their CORBA services. The test harness was a highly thread oriented Java thick client application.

At iGate software I held program manager or technical lead positions over a variety of challenging projects. Most of the projects were developed in C++. Projects included World Wide Web click stream analysis, data cleansing and warehousing, sales force automation, and customer relationship management for Fortune 100 companies.

Implemented improvements to Eaton/Cutler-Hamer C++/MFC application for small to medium electric distribution system design.
