As the Community and Cultural Events Coordinator for Logan City Council I was solely responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing the City’s annual events program including budgeting, creative, marketing, programming and risk management.The program included a diverse range of functions including hallmark events, community festivals, civic functions and celebratory galas. Key events I delivered included the official opening and public celebrations for the Logan Entertainment Centre; the official opening of the Logan City Council Administration Building by then Queensland Premier, Peter Beattie; the launch of the ‘Illuminating Logan’ projects and the annual Mayor’s Christmas Carols Concert for an audience of 5000 people.As part of this role, I also had responsibility for sourcing sponsorship and managing the deliverables for each event and also developing and implementing the Events Sponsorship Program that distributed more than $750,000 to local community organisations.

The core objective of this contract position was to lead the development and delivery a series of hallmark events for Redcliffe City including: the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games Torch Relay Celebrations for approximately 40,000 people at three venues; the Millennium celebrations for Redcliffe City and the official opening of the redeveloped Redcliffe Jetty - attended by more than 45,000 people.As the sole Events Officer, I was responsible for the development of the budget and program for engaging local sponsorship and stakeholders and liaising with key community agencies including the Redcliffe Police force. Given the high profile nature each of these events, an extensive amount of consultation with stakeholders, sponsors and contractors was required to ensure the objectives of each were met.
