In June 2016 Sam has opened her own practice specialising in commercial litigation and commercial law. This follows on from Sam's role as team leader for BCK Lawyers' commercial litigation department. Sam joined BCK Lawyers' commercial litigation team whilst still a student in 2008 bringing to that role 15 years experience in the building and construction, mining and civil engineering industries. Sam was appointed partner and appointed commercial litigation team leader just six years later. During her time at BCK Sam gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. This experience combined with her unique insight into the corporate world in both small and big business has provided her clients with someone who understands how their business worked and how to resolve matters effectively and efficiently, With the advantage of her experience Sam is aware of the issues that can arise in managing both small and big businesses alike. Sam has instructed in the High Court in a Building and Construction Industry Payments Act 2004 matter in which the application of the security of payment legislation to mining leases was considered and was successful in opposing the application for leave to appeal. Sam is the chair of the Queensland Law Society Construction and Infrastructure Law Committee and a member of the Queensland Law Society Litigation Rules Committee. Sam is also a member of the governance committee for Selectability and treasurer of Angel-Paws Inc an animal rescue organisation,
