Program Manager - Traffic Safety
Bellevue, Wa
At AAA, I managed, marketed, and implemented AAA Washington’s Traffic Safety Programs, advocated for traffic safety legislation, and provided public, employee, and member education and communication on traffic and driver safety issues. I developed marketing, social media and public relation strategies for AAA Traffic Safety Programs that resulted in consistent growth in sales to AAA’s Driver Improvement Courses, traffic to its Teen and Senior Driver websites and increase in the number of Washington elementary schools that participated in the AAA School Safety Patrol Program. I worked effectively across multiple teams and with senior leaders to manage projects, campaigns, and events that constantly met established goals, budgets, and timelines, and with results that met or exceeded expectations. My position at AAA had me working directly with vendors and suppliers to solicit bids, quotes and offers to procure a variety of requirements and administer contracts for traffic safety programs, events, and special projects.I provided written content for media releases, magazine and newsletter articles, and developed blog and social media content for the news media, internal and external audiences, AAA publications and for traffic safety partner organizationsI managed and planned AAA’s legislative efforts to get distracted driving legislation passed, and worked directly with state legislators, state agencies, and legislative workgroups on driver education, traffic and transportation issues. My responsibilities included partnering with state and county agencies and community coalitions in an advisory capacity and to provide communication support on issues ranging from teen drug and alcohol use, senior and teen drivers and impaired and distracted drivers.I conducted more than 40 presentations to senior groups, community and social organizations and professional organizations.I left AAA to persue personnal passions in fine woodworking.
