Manager R&D ProgrammesDigital Catapult Nov 2014 - Aug 2016London, United KingdomThe Digital Catapult was founded by Innovate UK to help UK businesses unlock new value from sharing proprietary data in faster, better and more trusted ways. It aims to do this by focusing on four areas of opportunity around proprietary data: Sharing closed data between organisations, sharing personal data in a way that's secure and trusted, sharing licensed data with less "friction" and sharing data generated across the internet of things. My role as Manager, R&D Programmes is threefold:- to understand the company's strategic objectives, technical and operational capabilities- to scan the grant funding landscape in the UK and Europe and identify suitable funding vehicles that provide opportunities for us to further our strategic and technical objectives - to identify opportunities to build collaborations and platform projects, recruit partners, create collaboration proposals and attract additional funding to assist in the development of these projects.Another very important aspect of the role is to ensure the smooth transfer of projects into execution and delivery and to track the success of delivery throughout the lifecycle to completion -
Qualifications Program ManagerArm Oct 2011 - Jun 2014Cambridge, United KingdomARM Holdings is the world's leading semiconductor intellectual property (IP) supplier and, as such, is at the heart of the development of digital electronic products. The ARM business model involves the designing and licensing of microprocessor IP rather than the manufacturing and selling of actual semiconductor chips. We licence IP to over 300 of the world's leading semiconductor and systems companies. These Partners utilize ARM IP designs to create and manufacture system-on-chip designs, paying ARM a license fee for the original IP and a royalty on every chip or wafer produced. These silicon partners sell their semiconductors to thousands of OEM companies around the world, who, between them all, employ millions of software and hardware developers designing products based on ARM technologyI was responsible for developing ARM's global, exam-based accreditation programme, from scratch, rolling it out on a worldwide basis and managing it thereafter. The programme, officially launched in 2012, offers developers all around the world the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of ARM technology to employers and peers by sitting an exam to gain an 'ARM Accredited Engineer' certification. In my time at ARM I successfully managed the creation of the ARM Accredited Engineer Program, completely from scratch, the definition of a roadmap of exams, the creation and launch of the first two exams in this roadmap and the marketing and promotion of the accreditations at various global events and through various media channels. I commissioned and managed the delivery of a full suite of learning and support materials around the first two exams.I also established a global infrastructure of over 25 third party training partners all around the world to support the introduction, promotion and delivery of this program. -
