I work as a Transmission Land Officer at Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN). My role primarily involves obtaining land rights for the business, liaising with landowners and agents. Prior to working at SPEN, I worked in environmental regulation as an Environment Protection Officer for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and as a SEPA Landfill Tax Officer (Specialist), supporting Revenue Scotland in the collection of Scottish Landfill Tax. My public sector experience exposed me to cross-disciplinary work within SEPA in addition to collaboration with businesses, public bodies and members of the public to ensure protection of the environment. Previously I worked as Geoscientist in the oil and gas sector, working on the geophysical interpretation of seismic data for international clients. I hold an MSc in Sustainability and Environmental Studies (University of Strathclyde, 2017). In collaboration with Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), I evaluated guidance change in the Visual Impact Assessment (VIA) of wind turbines as well as undertaking modules in EIA, SEA and sustainability. In addition, I achieved fantastic experience in Impact Assessment, studies in contaminated land, public health, waste management, water and environmental management and the Circular Economy. I also hold a BSc in Earth Science from the University of Glasgow (2012) and an MSc in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Aberdeen (2013).
