Tenure-track joint appointment in Theatre Arts and Dance. One of eight new faculty members in the Public Digital Arts, a Provost-initiated faculty cluster, who together focus on exploring the use of emerging technologies and artistic practices to create new approaches to artistic production and performance. Over the course of the first two years, develop and implement the digital arts curriculum, consisting of four new courses, for undergraduates and MFA directing, design, and choreography students. Received a multi-year, Student Technology Fee (STF) grant of $153,000 to purchase equipment for student use in courses. Research and purchase all associated equipment with STF grant. Work with staff to set-up inventory database of equipment and check-in/out policies. Set-up and supervise a research/classroom/video-studio/multi-media performance studio. Hire, train, and supervise two undergraduate student workers.

Defacto head of the department. Taught four courses per semester. Implement Communication Arts curriculum, advise thirty undergraduate majors, hire and supervise Adjunct Professors, purchase and maintain department video and photo equipment, supervise editing labs, departmental and University service with a four/four teaching load. Received an additional $35,000 from the University to purchase needed equipment, as well as hiring and supervising student workers. Also contracted to edit original video productions and upload video files for web streaming, using Final Cut Pro HD Suite, DVD Studio Pro Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and various compression and encoding software. Assignments include sports, weddings, events and independent media productions.

Responsible for organizing, managing and handling day-to-day operations of jazz concert facility and professional recording studio. Provide oversight for all activities relating to concerts, ensuring the proper degree of service is delivered to musicians, audience, staff, and clients and that all events comply with fire, safety and security regulations. Duties include: contract creation, complying with musicians’ riders, equipment rental, audio technician working with sound systems, concert lighting design and operation with ETC lighting system, box office management, oversight of facility operations during concerts, and the creation and implementation of local marketing strategies. Additional responsibilities include providing direction and guidance to staff, musicians, vendors and agents, and the creation and maintenance of detailed budgets and reports for all concerts and studio equipment. Producer, camera operator, and editor of three-camera live concert videos. Also responsible for preparing videos for internet streaming and DVD duplication, as well as shooting and processing still concert photographs. In charge of creating and managing web content concerning concert listings and musician information.

Independent Contractor responsible for managing installation and striking of architectural exhibits. Duties include: scheduling, planning, supervising, security and safety of 5-10 person crew, ordering materials and supplies, fabrication of installation structures, carpentry, fine artwork installation, loading and unloading crates and trucks, lighting design and operation and setting up of video projection systems and audio-visual displays, including the preparation and encoding of Power Point Presentations, RealMedia, Adobe Flash Video and QuickTime media for exhibition display.

Co-founder and award winning director of independent film, video, and theatrical production company. Leader in the creation, supervision, and implementation of theater, video and film projects from conception to completion, including delivery and distribution. Responsible for creating and implementing the curriculum for acting and production classes and workshops. Provide creative direction, leadership, and training to staff, clients, students and interns. Also responsible for creating production budgets and schedules, maintaining precise documentation on all project-related activities and equipment. Additional tasks involve: the creation of original graphic design using Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign, creating contracts, office and box office management.

Assist Production Service Coordinator of a $4 million summer festival with office duties and site duties including: supervising staff of five people, scheduling, logistics and operation management, and ordering supplies. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and accurate inventory documentation of all multi-facility festival signs and equipment. Provide oversight of daily service activities to ensure that the proper level of service and staffing was maintained throughout festival venues at all times. Provide general assistance to Coordinator to maintain well-organized functioning of department.

As a full-time theater faculty member at an arts magnet high school, was responsible for creating and implementing the curriculum for various courses, as well as directing and designing two theater productions per academic year. Courses taught included: Directing, Acting Techniques I, II, III and IV, Acting Styles, Commedia ‘del Arte, Shakespeare, Stage Design, Technical Theater, History of Theater, Musical Theater, History of the Television Sitcom, and Acting for the Camera.
