In this role, I have designed and convened a range of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and took full responsibility for these including all aspects of course-specific leadership, organisation, management, and line management of Postgraduate Teaching Assistants. Successfully contributing to the Research Excellence Framework and enhancing the research culture of the University, I regularly publish work of International excellent quality, and ensure pathways for wider impact through collaboration with external partners, the submission of external research funding applications, organising conferences, and delivering papers at major institutions such as Tate and National Museums Liverpool. Academic leadership and management are central to this role and through my roles as Director of Academic Conduct, LGBTQ+ Network Co-Ordinator, and elected Senate representative, I have made a significant contribution to the Department, Faculty and wider University that has enhanced the University's strategic plan and decision making processes. I primarily supported Dr Syng Tan with the launch of a new MA in Creative Arts Leadership, including market research, course administration, submitting external funding applications, and budget management. This also involved networking with employers and key leaders in the creative industries to build successful relationships that would enhance the programme, including with sector-leading professionals. Strong management skills, working on my own independent initiative, and a capability of motivating individuals were key and I frequently mentored early-career research staff.
