Worked as part of a small international team designing, developing, and implementing a new manufacturing process in India. Responsibilities were split between project management tasks and as product owner/technologist. Managed team risks and actions, timelines, developed process User Requirement Specifications, Product Control Strategies, and analysed and interpreted data generated by a complex and novel system. These responsibilities required effective communication across borders, between teams located in India, both internally and externally to GSK. During this time, I have had the opportunity to travel and run GMP trial operations in India to produce market product.

Worked in the Slough production team, leading investigations and continuous improvement projects, with the aim to decrease wastage, increase yield and to support Shift Managers and their Operators in their day to day activities. The role encompassed use of many aspects of engineering, chemical engineering and chemistry. I have represented the Production team for investigations resulting from complaints or issues, and have represented GSK Slough for projects involving the wider organisation. Main focuses were the implementation and use of Lean Manufacturing principles, waste reduction, and continuous improvement. I was responsible for leading several projects to improve performance and output of the factory, with demonstrated increases to OEE and output as a result. Responsible for the recruitment and development of several summer and full time students to work alongside the Production team.

Responsible for the analysis and organisation of testing for GSK Consumer Healthcare products to generate product shelf lives and support the NPD team, including MaxiMuscle, Horlicks and Scott's emulsions, with a focus on product stability and continuous improvement of product understanding - focusing on vitamin and oxidative stability, through a vast variety of techniques.

Responsible for development of understanding and control of flavour formation in Horlicks manufacturing (Maillard chemistry), assisting a project team technically in the development of new manufacturing processes, and organisation of laboratory experiments to continually improve on what we have learned. This process has gone on to full scale industrialisation.Much of the work performed was around the research and development of flavour chemistry so it may be better controlled. During this time I attended and ran several GMP manufacturing trials at 3rd party facilities.

Assisted in many departments of Crowne Plaza Reading, including; Conference and Events, Restaurant, Bar, Reception, Revive health club, maintenance, housekeeping and night porter. Also stood in as replacement night manager.
