I am a business management practitioner and teacher interested in strategy, technology trends and industry disruption, change management, leadership, and programme, portfolio and project management. I have been fortunate to have enjoyed a career that spans military leadership, general management, consultancy, business owner coaching and now HE teaching. Highlights along the way include construction work in the Falkland Islands, specifying a new National Criminal Record System for the Home Office, developing new systems for the Crown and County Courts, delivery of the Oyster Card Service, winning a £1bn contract for Fujitsu Services, establishing an IT services centre in Pune under a BOT agreement, and advising global firms on their outsourcing and offshoring strategy. None of the above would have been possible without the help of some great people in the Royal Engineers and colleagues at Capgemini, EDS, Fujitsu, Morgan Chambers, Hedra, HP, ISG, Ology, and the BNI, and also some great clients.During my time in higher education I have designed and developed MSc and MBA courses for online and blended learning, and see the use of business simulations as a critical component in developing business leaders and managers. I have worked with a number of HE organisations on the implementation and integration of Cesim global challenge into business management courses. Currently I have the good fortune to be teaching at London Metropolitan University in the Guildhall School of Business and Law.
