About Daniel Gould

I graduated from Staffordshire University in 2010 achieving a First Class award with honours in Policing and Criminal Investigation. This policing degree significantly expanded my knowledge of law enforcement, especially from an investigative and analytical thinking perspective.I spent 12 months living and working in North America through 2011 and 2012 together with my now Wife, which was a great experience, noting first-hand what it is like to live and work in another country and culture, before settling down and pursuing our careers. This experience really started my love for travel, something that I continue to enjoy as much as possible to this day.Since starting my career at GE in 2012 I have built a real passion for Product Management, following the full lifecycle of a product from NPI though project delivery to obsolescence management. GE has provided me with excellent opportunities to build my knowledge of HVDC products, but also business processes and general personal development. This development has helped me move through various exciting roles within the business, experiencing a range of topics and building myself and my skill set, helping me to become a people leader, and now lead a team of great engineers, having a real impact on the work that GE conducts and the products that we produce for our customers.GE is making an impact to the world we live in, and you could too! Material Management Technician

Stafford, Uk

My role at Alstom Grid was in a large office in their power electronic systems (PES) department, which deals with high voltage direct current (HVDC) systems on a global market. I was originally tasked to complete multiple organisational tasks to help support the functionality of the company, by way of designing and implementing new systems and processes. I worked closely with a wide range of individuals, from engineers and technicians to senior management, evaluating their needs together with the needs of the business, data and system base to design and implement the best possible solution for all involved in a timely manner.I vastly improved my knowledge and skill base in many areas during my time in this role such as being trained on SAP and other bespoke business systems. I became the sole SAP engineer for the department, in the role of Material Management Technician, a role that required completion of tasks ranging from creating material masters of individual parts to compiling BOMs for whole assemblies on our SAP system. Using such data my role responsibilities expand to encompass the supply, allocation and replenishment of all parts and equipment used across the department, working together with the MRP team. I held responsibility for the departmental facilities and ensure that EHS and 5S aspects were being adhered to at all times to ensure a safe working environment, aswell as redeveloping the department’s storage solutions to help better meet the business needs and implementation of a new process to help material requisition orders run more smoothly.

Sales Associate

Whistler, Canada

My main role involved me communicating with customers to assess their needs enabling me to ensure they had the correct product. Customer service in Canada is far advanced over what we have in the UK, so I found this to be a great learning experience and I think I am a better person for it. I was also responsible for stock management, processing of deliveries, loss prevention and cash handling.

Nov 2011 - Apr 2012

Retail Supervisor

Cannock, Uk

I worked for Tesco Stores PLC in the role of general assistant at my local superstore while completing my studies. This role involved me serving customers on the checkouts. A large part of the job involved customer service skills as I was in contact with customers 100% of the time. In this position I developed my interpersonal skills with both customers and staff of all levels. In November 2007 I was promoted to checkout team leader. My new role involved me controlling the overall operations of the checkout department for the store. My customer service skills were put to use in this new role as I became accountable for the department. This new role involved working together with the cash department, to ensure all monies were correct and accounted for, and to conduct investigations in the cases of discrepancies. My leadership qualities were also brought to light in this role as I had to develop and encourage my team, assisting staff in difficult situations and advising them accordingly. It was my job not only to ensure that the standards of the team were high and the tasks that have been assigned were completed to a satisfactory standard, but also to ensure that the morale of the team was kept high. I was tasked with conducting annual performance reviews and also had to train new members of the team, achieve and exceed targets and also satisfy line and senior managers. This role was very challenging in a fast passed environment, requiring me to be highly organised to be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and hit required targets.

May 2006 - Oct 2011

Special Constable

Lichfield, Uk

My role at Staffordshire Police was voluntary, having full constabulary powers and performing police duties under the supervision of, and supported by, regular officers. My principal role consisted of local, intelligence based patrols and crime reduction initiatives, helping in meeting the policing needs of the local community, targeted at specific local crime problems. I was also involved in policing major incidents and events, and in providing other operational support to regular officers when needed. I was expected to provide an appropriate efficient response and provide a quality service at all times. I thrived in the challenging role, vastly increasing my personal skill base through working with the public and new colleagues in this sector of work. I have found the role compliments my university studies, putting the knowledge I have gained into practice, strengthening my understanding of law enforcement and criminal investigation.
