About Daniel Hall

I am now working on a Biomechanical Research PhD at Trinity College DublinI completed my 4th year at Trinity achieving a First Class Honours Degree in 2020. This was based on a research project Conducted at Nokia Bell Labs.In 2019 I was awarded with a Laidlaw Research and Leadership Scholarship. This involves me conducting a research proposal and spending 10 weeks over two summers researching my chosen project. I am looking at ways to increase the tear resistance of rubbers for the purposes or reducing cyclist injuries from tram tracks in cities. The scholarship also includes multiple weekend leadership and development sessions throughout the next two years.https://laidlawscholars.com/In second Year of College I joined the Formula Trinity, Trinities first formula Student Team as the head of the Drive Train department. This involved forming a team with members from different courses and years. The goal of this competition is to design and build a full sized race car for a competition in Silverstone.http://formulatrinity.com/I entered a competition known as "Where There Is No Engineer" run by Engineers Without Boarders. This years competition required me to help tackle the poor standard of living for refugees. I designed and manufactured two working prototypes for a solar powered energy storage box using broken computer parts I found in the recycling bins. This would allow the refugees to power things like lamps heaters and small electric cookers. I attained Second Place in the Irish competition of 2018.http://www.engineersjournal.ie/2018/07/10/no-engineer-initiative-2018-homes-forced-migration-theme/I have experience working with both Forensics Engineers and Pharmaceutical Companies and I am certified in Manual Handling, EHS Induction, GMP, Gowning, and Good Documentation Practice from Mylan.

The Team will research, design, test and demonstrate a novel train safety device to attempt to reduce the lethality of human and train collisions in Public Transit Systems. The effects of which will hopefully reduce the number of people killed both by accidental and suicidal subway train and human collisions.

Laidlaw Scholar

County Dublin, Ireland

In 2019 I was awarded with a Laidlaw Scolarship. For this Scholarship I had to submit and present my research proposal to a panel of judges.
