On the Finance/Contracts committee - reviewed, critiqued, held hearings, and formulated policy on the NYC Budget (approx. $72 billion per year), overseeing 115 city agencies, municipal contracts, voting systems, public safety policy, public housing facilities, city land use, and mental health initiatives. On the Committee for Land Use- review of local laws, create, audit, modify building and zoning ordinances, ensure Agency compliance and enforcement of City code, assign and audit city land use contracts, document decisions of policy and community boards, and review City Uniform Land Use Policy & program throughout NYC. As the ranking member of Public Safety- he was involved in the audit, review and implement laws and policies for public safety agencies review data, ensure compliance of law enforcement, fire, corrections, EMS, and 911/311 systems.As an attorney he held Admissions: NY Bar; US Supreme Court; 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals; Armed Forces Court of Appeals, Federal Court of Trade, and numerous federal district courts.Today Dan is an avid scuba diver and Instructor in recreational Scuba Diving, Public Safety ERDI Diving, and First Aid/CPR as well as Technical and Scientific Research diving. He is working towards a graduate degree in Maritime Archaeology while teaching at Scuba Network of Long Island. He continues to consult on libertarian and governmental initiatives.
