Dan joined MIS with over twenty-five years experience in construction, architecture, and project management. Services to MIS focus on peer review of architectural drawings, specification reviews, and construction phase services to evaluate the overall resistance of the building envelope to liquid and vapor moisture intrusion. As with Dan's architectural firm, there is a focus on renovations and remediation within the multifamily, hospitality, mixed-use, and commercial industries. He also reviews the compatibility and durability of components related to the building envelope in accordance with his understanding of generally accepted industry principles and practices.

A collaborative project and team leadership role between Mixed-Use, Residential, Planning/Urban Design, and Environmental Graphics. Based in the Celebration, FL office. A strong team environment, the level of service to our clients, and a track record of creating great places distinguished LRK in the region.Notable projects include Construction Contract Administration for four buildings at the Ave Maria Town Center (Ave Maria, FL) and the AIA award-winning 17-story mixed-use Paramount on Lake Eola (Orlando, FL), which includes the first grocery store in downtown Orlando in nearly 40 years.

Project and Department Manager, reporting to the Firm Owner. Responsibilities included planning and urban design ranging on projects from infill for a national residential builder to master planning a resort with two signature golf courses and PGA events to the regional visioning on over 300,000 acres in Central Florida. Department Manager responsibilities included coordination of staffing and teaming internally and with other departments.

While maintaining a full graduate course load in two degrees, I was pleased to work part-time with the team at the Arkitex Studio, working on projects including the design and production of an office building, student condominium project, student center, the renovation and repositioning of a 350,000 sf 40-year old shopping center, tenant improvement, and residential work. Though not fully appreciated at the time, this firm has provided much of the foundation on which future practice is based as they are very committed to design and drawing excellence.

Part of the HOK Aviation group, worked on Airside 2 and the new South Terminal at Orlando International Airport, Airside E at Tampa International Airport, Concourse B at Ft. Lauderdale International Airport and others.Managed the CAD production for multiple Florida offices, including the transition from AutoCAD 14 to Architectural Desktop.

Part of the Health Care team, I primarily worked on the construction administration of the expansion of the Duke Clinic South at the Duke University Medical center. As part of the Justice/Criminal Justice team, I worked on multiple projects with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, the Orange County Courthouse Complex, the Osceola County Courthouse Complex, and the Jacksonville Federal Courthouse. I left the firm to follow the project architect, who has also served as my architectural mentor, to HOK.

Assisted in the design and documentation of multiple project types, including a research facility, office, religious, and multifamily projects. Returned to the same firm when I resumed studies in 2001.

Summer internship in Savannah, Georgia, at HGB+D assisting on production of religious, educational, and commercial projects.
