As the Design Release Engineer (DRE) – Control Electronics my fundamental remit is the definition, creation and delivery of systems, sub-systems and components within their respective domain, from concept, through prototyping, all the way to mass manufacturing and field service. I take ownership of the commodities I am assigned and make sure, in consultation with Module Leaders, that the design is fit for purpose and based to meet DFM/DFA requirements. Managing the Hardware Engineering Process for the Critical Communications division of Sigtec. I am responsible for Quality and Control of all hardware designed, purchased and deployed for customer applications for Emergency Services, and the Service of that hardware in maintenance.My role has allowed me to standardise, strengthen and maintain an internal consistency in procedures for developing internal automotive solutions which has brought about positive impacts to the project related workload allowing transference of materials and labour. This has developed a culture change implementing a more efficient and effective manufacturing procedure for project related hardware.I have driven problem solving groups striving to achieve solutions in tight time frames. Garnering the assistance of a multi-disciplinary team I have developed solutions, investigated problems and brought about novel and ideal solutions for Sigtec which they have delivered to customers, displayed at trade shows, and proposed as enhancements to customers throughout the world.I have led teams of engineers and technicians in the field overseeing and being actively involved in project roll-out and trials. My on site experience has led me to be involved at every step of the project, to liaising day by day with technicians and engineers providing guidance and direction for hardware installation and routing, to managing customer expectations being actively involved in Project discussions with General Managers and Project Directors.I have strove to develop my role and skills as a Product Manager through my involvement in the project throughout its life cycle. From initial conception through to maintenance I maintain a presence to promote the best possible solution for my customers, and for Sigtec.

I have been involved in a plethora of projects, roles and been given responsibilities through my employment. My contributions impacted projects including the currently in-deployment National Train Communications System (NTCS) throughout New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. Other contributions include work on the CCU3 range of products currently deployed with Tyco and Siemens internationally in Life Safety Systems from hotels and casinos through to offshore oil rigs. My responsibilities included hardware design and software and embedded firmware design and development. Documentation designer and maintainer, principal hardware tester for the NTCS project and primary Quality Control provider. I was responsible for the design and fit out of the Assembly Production facility for base2, and communicated with professional installers and contractors to facilitate the speedy installation of hardware necessary for a fully operational facility. I was operating as a Team Leader for the primary phase of the Production Facility's operation and liaised with management, manufacturing, engineering and administration staff to incorporate efficiency in operation of the facility. I took the initiative to introduce a documentation scheme for the internal wiring of the products being designed which were easily identifiable, instructive, complete and traceable to increase production performance and to minimise confusion and waste to untrained employees.
