Major objectives were to maximize line attainment, decrease loss-to-yield, stabilize precious metal loadings, minimize process downtime, and limit production inventories. • Production schedules were revised to maximize plant efficiency and major objectives sited above were achieved to include:o Line attainment of 65 to 70 percent achieved which improved process downtime.o Loss to yield was reduced from 1 percent to 0.75 percent.o Process of precious metal loadings was consistent, as were production inventories with no significant increase.Process/Project Engineer (Feb. 1997 – Feb. 2001 and July 2002 – Dec. 2002)• Developed process parameters for production drying ovens to coordinate proper moisture removal from catalytic converters. Procedures were developed for oven balancing dependent on environmental conditions. • Engineered processing conditions for new coating process. This included dryers and pumps for washcoat (slurry material which is alumina based and contains other significant base/precious metals) flow. These new process improvements increased product output by 30 percent.• Successfully examined and enhanced the waste treatment process by analyzing current methods and company needs. This analysis resulted in an implementation of a more efficient, cost effective, and environmentally safe system. Cost savings resulting from this implementation equated to $ 10,000 annually.• Spent three months at our Mexico facility coordinating process improvements and technology transfers. Improvements led to an expansion of the facility.
