I possess a previous degree in Bachelor of Public Relations that I obtained at Mount Saint Vincent University in 2013. Afterwards, I was employed at Bebbington Industries as a Marketing Manager for four years. My time at Bebbington taught me the complexities of the business world, and I was determined from that time to become more involved in the business environment. As well, I worked closely with the Accounting Manager, where I discovered my passion for numbers. Warren Buffet said it best when he quipped, “Accounting is the language of business.” With this passion I studied at Saint Mary’s University and graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Commerce which has helped me advanced in this new language. My courses have helped me understand the complex relationship between business and accounting, for example; the evaluation of information technology investments and how to recognize, measure and report under GAAP policies and the compliance & principle of tax laws. Saint Mary’s University is to be commended on their mandate to offer high quality education to their students, even under unprecedented and difficult times. I look forward to advancing my knowledge in starting my pathway in becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant. For 2 years I worked in the accounts receivable department at Shannex Incorporated. During my time at Shannex Incorporated, I've become adept in maintaining a billing system that assures representational and timely statements to residents. Being accountable for over 300 residences' daily miscellaneous billing and deposits, monthly rent, and EFT generation has honed my attention to detail and organizational skills. I was responsible for answering resident inquiries on statements by investigating and resolving discrepancies through reconciliation journal entries. Currently, I just accepted a new role with Marsh McLennan in February 2023. My comprehensive understanding of accounting responsibilities, coupled with my ambition, career goals, and work ethic makes me an excellent candidate for such a prestige company. Additionally, being fluent in both French and English allowed me to utilize my developing skills across a broad range of applications.
