In recognition of her strong response to the COVID-19 crisis, Danielle received the 2020 Light a Fire Award for Leadership from Moffly Media. Danielle started as site director in 2020. By mid year she selected a team that helped the site grow 80 % from 2019-2020. In 3 years between 2020-2023, Danielle and her team provided over 10 million meals to agencies that feed the food insecure and saved 12 million pounds of nutritious food from the waste stream improving the environment in Fairfield County, CT. Danielle received the 2020 Light a Fire Leadership Award, 2021 Champion of Youth Yerwood Boys & Girls Club, 2022 Pacific House Homeless Shelter Making a Difference Award.

Food Rescue US is a national organization that focuses on solving 2 critical issues of today - hunger and food waste. Food Rescue US uses a direct transfer method by utilizing an award winning app to show where there is surplus food in the community, volunteers rescue this local surplus food and deliver it directly to their neighborhood social service agencies who have children and adults that are food insecure. Our model insures that food rescued today is delivered today.
