I am a 5th grade teacher, responsible for the academic and social wellbeing of 96 children on a day-to-day basis. I collaborate with other staff members to analyze and respond to data for students to meet Common Core Standards. In addition to teaching, last year I was also the co-chair of the Sunshine Committee, where I coordinate monthly events/outings, weekly meditation, staff lunches, etc. I also am an Instructional Leader, where I coach new teachers about the curriculum, lesson planning, data meetings, and everyday teacher responsibilities. I am also a Grade Level Chair, where I run 5th grade team meetings, am the point of contact for leadership as well as students' families, and am there to bounce ideas off.

I assisted students throughout the writing process by reading and commenting on higher-order concerns within papers, holding conferences, collaborating with faculty on their assignments, and helping with library and database research.

I worked as a teacher in a full time summer position at a gratuitous, six-year program for low-income students to be mentored over summer breaks in order to prevent summer learning loss and further prepare them for college. I was responsible for teaching 8th grade English (40 students), writing lesson plans, learning instruction differentiation, and completing other duties as assigned.
