What drives my passion for Market Access in the biotech industry - rare/orphan/specialty - can be summarized in one word: HOPE. The greatest satisfaction I receive in my work is when I connect a patient with a medication that changes their life, their future, and provides them with HOPE. I have seen firsthand how hope can transform a patient and their family by changing the expected trajectory of a chronic or rare disease. It is this patient-centered attitude that I instill in my team members and use as the basis of my leadership philosophy to achieve exceptional results that make a difference in the lives of patients. Career OverviewI started in pharmaceutical sales at Warner Chilcott and Sanofi 21 years ago, gaining knowledge and experience in the diabetes, cardiovascular, and obgyn fields in both the hospital and ambulatory settings while exceeding sales goals and achieving top rankings in sales and sales leadership. Following this, I went to Biogen, where I first worked as Area Business Manager in MS before transitioning to infusion reimbursement. From there, I launched Spinraza in rare disease, leading the Southeast Family Access Managers then finally to the US National Director of Rare Disease Reimbursement.I followed my passion for rare disease market access and patient support to Sarepta, where I was tasked to build the site readiness go to market strategy for DMD Gene Therapy SRP-9001. Then I was recruited to build the vision and strategy for the inaugural Field Access team at Biohaven for a large-volume migraine drug. Leadership StyleI make sure my team always knows the "why" behind what we are working toward so they are inspired to help patients gain access to potentially life-changing treatments. My goal is for my team members to reach their full potential and work as relentlessly for the patients we serve as they would for a family member with the same need.
