I am an aspiring Software Engineer and UX Designer at Indiana University-Bloomington studying Informatics.I began my journey taking an introductory Computer Science course. Looking back, I would have never thought that I had such a passion for technology. I fully intended to continue through college going into the medical field where I would either conduct research or consider going into a practice. Yet, there was nothing more satisfying (or more challenging) than grasping my first coding language: Racket. From there, I continued honing my skills by being in the 2020 cohort of the Software Engineering experience at Old Navy. The job encouraged me to pursue coursework that spurned an understanding of a variety of coding languages and best practices. Some of the languages I learned through coursework include Python, Java, and SQL (to name a few) where there was the opportunity to learn of their best uses and to put them into practice in a multitude of projects and assignments. After picking up critical concepts through other work in data structures and algorithmic design as well as discrete structures, I began to explore interests in game design. In my free time, I created prototypes of games to acquire command of industry standard skills and software such as, but not limited to, Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, C, C# etc.I find that I have a wide range of interests and consider myself quite the life-long learner. Aside from coding, I study Japanese and have a dream of traveling one day to Japan. Learning from others and expanding one's horizons provides some of the greatest experiences and moments of growth. I hope that my work not only supports my dreams, but becomes them. I am passionate about my work and do not see that changing anytime soon.
