This period of working includes a period of one year where I was a Trainee Psychological Well-being Practitioner between April 22 to March 23. Trainee Psychological Well-being Practitioner - During this year I attended Reading University where I learnt multiple low intensity CBT interventions that can be utilised within an IAPT setting. We undertook the study of the theory of CBT and how this can then be implementing with clients in IAPT. Whilst studying at University I was also working full time with client in implementing these skills to support client through period of distress when experiencing depression, Generalised Anxiety, OCD and Health Anxiety. The course was BABCP accredited. Qualified PWP - March 23 to current - Gained my BABCP membership. Engaging with fully qualified caseload, continuing to implement low intensity CBT interventions within IAPT. I have also gotten involved with mentoring new trainees starting the course, introducing them into service and supporting them in getting started in the role. I also worked on a tracker to support mentors and mentees when observing assessments and treatment in groups. I also work as a Well-being Champion which involves supporting the team with the well-being and being a point of contact for any concerns. Currently working on building on my preceptorship and maintaining my membership. I am also training to become a supervisor and have begun supervising a colleague this includes manage case loads, Discussing cases and supporting the supervisee in delivery of appropriate treatment.

Working in an acute Psychiatric mental health hospital. As a Band 5 I supported with support worker roles such as personal care, patient observations, supporting client in taking leave off hospital grounds, advocating for patient needs, managing escalation of patients and support patients with being compliant with medication as well as supporting them emotionally through their hospital stay and maintaining their dignity. Engaging with patient families and keeping them informed of their care where appropriate. I also worked on some nursing support like risk assessment of clients and engaging in MDS where it gave me more space to advocate for the best interests of my clients in supporting their recovery and maintenance of their mental health conditions such as depression, bipolar, psychosis, schizophrenia and so on.
