I am currently a Postdoc at Auburn University working on comparative functional genomics of Channel Island (CA) dwarf reptiles. I have experience in comparative phylogenomics and historical demography of Neotropical reptiles and amphibians.My wet lab expertise is in genetics-related techniques, such as DNA extraction, PCR optimization, and library prep for high-throughput sequencing technologies like ddRADseq, RNAseq, and Whole Genome Sequencing.I analyze this type of data using the command line and programming languages bash, Python, and R on high powered computing clusters. I then summarize my analyses in manuscripts submitted to peer-reviewed scientific journals.I also love Natural History collections and their importance in science today. I've performed fieldwork in the South American Tropics, the Caribbean, the southwest US, and continental/islands of California, and have experience catching, dissecting, and processing reptiles and amphibians for genomic analysis and museum collection preservation.Diversity and equity in STEM are priorities in every endeavor I approach and I encourage it to be important to others as well!!
