• Researched class and collective action matters including Title VII and joint employment claims • Drafted motions to dismiss, EEOC position statements, summaries for general counsel, and memoranda on topics such as 42 U.S.C. § 1981, anticipatory repudiation, contract abandonment, complaint deficiencies, and jurisdiction • Collaborated with business clients directly within FedEx Ground including members of the Safety, Engineering, and HR Teams to support inter-department initiatives for facility improvements • Provided recommendations on whether contract provisions will be enforceable, such as a liquidated damages provision • Supported attorneys in pro-bono initiatives by meeting with clients for the Transgender Name Change Project

• Updated the online components of a criminal procedure textbook co-authored by Professor Ronald Wright • Worked in conjunction with faculty and students from UNC Law on research relating to prosecutor associations and how lobbying affects bill passage in the legislature • Researched prosecutorial elections and how demographics may affect the likelihood of incumbents being re-elected

• Attended client meetings, collected evidence, and helped develop trial strategy for a pro-bono federal civil case involving an assault claim by a prisoner • Prepared client contracts, assembled Diversion Program paperwork, drafted continuances, bench memoranda, requests for production of evidence, and other documents as needed • Communicated with clients in-person, over the phone, and via e-mail regarding status updates and other clerical matters
