Currently, I am a veterinary assistant at the Bondurant Animal Clinic, with 4 years of experience in the small animal and livestock industries. I have worked with several veterinarians that specialize in both large and small animal practices throughout the state of Iowa and North Carolina. In my position, I am responsible for client and patient information, drawing up vaccinations and completing all diagnostic testing. As a clinic team, we work hard to ensure trustworthy relationships between our clients, with proper communication and a family friendly environment.Before working at the clinic, I’ve worked at a few animal boarding and grooming facilities-Animal House and Newton Animal Clinic- and was lucky enough to work with great clients and pets of all sizes to enhance my skills and care for each individual animal including restraining, communication, and animal behavior. My skills in communication and time management allows for a more successful experience for my employees and strive to accomplish every task that is placed in front of me. Overall, the best part of my job is making a personal relationship with each client and bonding with each of our patients individually. Having that relationship with each pet allows for a better experience for the patients, the doctors and myself for every visit to the clinic. Currently, I'm a junior at Iowa State University, working towards my Bachelors in Animal Science with a concentration in Dairy Science. Following graduation, I plan to earn my Masters in Business and soon follow with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine for Large Animals with the hopes of a personal practice. Actively, I continue to search for new opportunities and internships to increase my knowledge and skills throughout the livestock and veterinary industries. My goal is to accomplish many connections throughout marketing, communication, management, and production systems to reach the highest level of experience and education in such opportunities.
