I am currently a 2nd class power engineer working with Nova Scotia Power at the Lingan Generating Station. I started out in my career path not knowing what direction to go and decided on getting a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cape Breton University. Part way through my degree I realized I was not going to thrive at a desk and decided to enroll in Process Operations and Power Engineering at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). With night classes and some summer school hours I was able to complete both my BBA and get two diplomas at NSCC by 2018. I graduated with honours from NSCC with my 3rd class power engineering certification. I then took a job in Yellowknife as a building operator at Stanton Territorial Hospital before returning home for a position with Nova Scotia Power in March of 2020. Since then I have completed my 2nd class power engineering certification and enjoyed my career as a Power Engineer/Plant Operator within Nova Scotia Power.
