I have over ten years of experience working in operations and events roles at the Arts Marketing Association (AMA). As Head of Operations and Events, I lead on the AMA’s strategic business operations, which includes recruitment, team development, and internal communications. I also lead on the operations and delivery for the annual AMA Conference, which includes venue curation, social programme planning, and lots of financial management. I'm passionate about environmental sustainability, and work to place equity, diversity and inclusion at the heart of all my work. Staff wellbeing is also high up on my agenda, and I'm a qualified Mental Health First Aider. Some things that I'm really proud of doing include:— redeveloping the AMA’s recruitment processes with inclusion and wellbeing at the core of the work (I also delivered a webinar on this topic too, which was both terrifying and a great experience)— founding the AMA's first Green Champions group, and leading on creating the organisation's first environmental action plan and carbon measurement process— being a core part of getting the AMA's 4 Day Week trial up on its feet, and driving it forwards— co-developing the organisation's value statements, including working with the AMA team to find things that really spoke to every one of us across our work — implementing a 'project management' system for the AMA's events and projects, including project briefs, plans, and better meetings. Outside of my work, I have a degree in English Literature and Theatre, and manage a personal social media account where I blog about books and write reviews via my little corner if the internet (@whatdanireads_ on Instagram). I regularly work with publishers on campaigns to share and promote new releases through my platform.
