At BLM I am employed as a Legal Executive in their Casualty Team at Fenchurch Street, London. My workload involves: • Managing a large and demanding caseload of medium to high value Defendant employers liability and public liability claims.• Training Client’s to enable them to identify and manage risk and to assist them in the claims process.• Effectively managing court and client deadlines.• Assisting Partners on their higher value and complex cases.• Proactively planning and dynamically prioritising a heavy workload that shifts on a day to day basis.• Analysing complex information and adapting this by way of drafting or disseminating it directly to clients.• Keeping myself up to date and current through case reviews, case law know-how and legal research.• Undertaking high pressure negotiations

Commercial Dispute Resolution And Compliance

I am an experienced Litigation Manager specialising in defending Fast Track and Multi Track Public and Employers Liability matters for both Insurers and Plc's. I also provide assistance to the Thames Valley Head of Insurance, in his complex Employers and Public Liability matters. I deal mainly with insurance claims but have experience with Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims, Subsidence claims and Mesothelioma matters. I also assist on Regulatory matters.My role requires the ability to proactively plan and dynamically prioritise a heavy workload that shifts on a daily basis. I also have daily interactions with internal and external stakeholders including managers, clients, counsel and Court officers. Managing expectations and delivering outcomes as promised are key parts of this. Through case reviews, case law know-how and client/legal research, I regularly analyse complex information and adapt this by way of drafting, or disseminate it to Clients.As part of my role I also manage Client's litigation budgets including forecasting external counsel costs and Court fees. I constantly assess such budgeting against the possibility of early settlement (an ‘opportunity cost’ consideration) to provide my clients with a return on investment
