HR is often defined by this “simple” statement – All things worker- related. But as employees and employers continue to evolve and redefine what matters – it is anything but “simple”. Having spent the past ten+ years working in HR, I truly believe, as the saying goes, that “Most People Are Good”! I also believe that many of us want the same things -to feel valued as an individual and as part of a group, to feel respected for our knowledge and skill-set and encouraged to bring up that “crazy idea”- who knows, it just might work! Excitement is contagious – in a good way! HR has the unique opportunity to create a safe and empowering space that individuals and organizations can work together in to create true success! When HR promotes a shared vision and culture, we provide opportunities for unlimited growth and new experiences, allowing each other to give and receive the best version of ourselves! Let’s be honest- we all have something to learn. When we place value on what others bring to the workplace, we build bridges and create new paths! When we actively listen, we engage in true communication. When we show compassion and practice kindness, we truly connect. To me, that is what HR brings to the table. The commitment to offer an environment that makes people want to get up and come to work every day!
