I have many years of experience in civil litigation, with heavy experience in insurance bad faith litigation. I am the lead paralegal in the insurance bad faith practice group in the downtown San Diego office. I am responsible for the supervision of other paralegals and case assistants in our group. This includes overseeing the assignment of cases, monitoring work flow, and monitoring billable hours. I am proficient in both California Superior Court litigation and United States District Court litigation. My job duties include the following:- Drafting discovery requests- Drafting discovery responses- Reviewing client documents for responsiveness to propounded discovery requests- Conducting privilege reviews on client documents prior to production- Redacting privileged documents and preparing privilege logs- Drafting federal court removal papers- Drafting third party discovery- Analyzing documents obtained through discovery or Rule 26 disclosures for key facts and information- Managing case documents through the use of document management software, such as Concordance and Relativity- Utilizing software such as Summation and Text Map for storing and reviewing transcripts (i.e., deposition transcripts, trial transcripts, etc.)- Utilizing software such as Accurint and TLO to conduct research for purposes such as locating witnesses for personal service of subpoenas, locating assets for discovery purposes or execution of liens, identifying the corporate members of businesses, etc.- Preparing attorneys for both taking and defending depositions- Gathering exhibits and testimony excerpts for motions- Trial preparation, including preparing exhibit lists and binders, preparing witness lists, preparing attorney trial binders, lodging deposition transcripts with the court, assisting with preparing exhibits and deposition video clips for display at trial through software such as Trial Director, trial attendance- Tracking billable hours
