The items described for Patient & Family Relations Specialist have been incorporated into this new role along w/ additional responsibilities. - Manage patient and family complaints and grievances ensuring regulatory compliance with timely and transparent responses> Cross-functional collaboration with leadership, Risk Management, & Patient Safety regarding follow up to patients and families related to unexpected clinical outcomes and complications> Lead sensitive patient & family meetings with medical team and executive leadership as needed for disclosure conversations or as a part of grievance resolution response > Develop comprehensive chronology report files of patient experience for investigation & review> Coordinate and write resolution letters per Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) grievance definition requirements in partnership with Risk Management & cross-functional leadership> Triage and escalate unanticipated outcomes and adverse events to the Hospital Early Assessment & Response Team Huddle to improve coordination of efforts and efficacy of support- Optimize program operations to maximize support needs including completing standard work stabilization projects - Assist in the improvement of intervention efficacy outcomes e.g., Town Halls, Incident Support, Moral Distress Forums, Bounce Back Check Ins, & other recognition strategies- Provide consultation for crisis intervention and coping strategies, secondary trauma, burnout, resilience, & staff support program development- Demonstrate strong patient, family, and staff experience focus in a complex & high stress environment- Mentor colleagues on best practices managing conflict and establishing effective partnerships with families including verbal de-escalation strategies & trauma informed care approach
