As an integral member of 2U's Workforce Engagement team, I bring creative perspective, dynamic content strategy, and effective collaboration to our career services work.Each quarter thus far in 2022, I have delivered 15 pieces of content, on average, to our audience of students, alumni, and job seekers. Content includes monthly Mailchimp newsletters on dedicated career themes, infographics outlining our department offerings and other career topics, long-form articles, and multimedia projects. I work across team-lines, collaborating with product, marketing, operations, and curriculum teams on a daily basis. I have tracked content engagement through spreadsheets, organization platforms like JIRA, and through metrics gathered on Google Data Studio. I continue to create and iterate collaboration processes based on continuous feedback and guidance.

During my time with LVTD Design, I headed metal fabrication operations and maintained quality control. As the, sometimes, sole welder and metal specialist, I worked with teammates to merge and make sense of integrated designs. I modeled and iterated designs for efficiency and effectiveness. My designs focused on long-term customer satisfaction and ease of install for workers on site. I brought new processes, quality-standards, and perspective to the shop environment and held my colleagues to a high standard for craftsmanship.

As a fabricator, designer, and shop manager for Compass Coffee's Design and Build team, I was able to thrive as a creative thinker and flex my high attention to detail. I worked with a team of skilled fabricators and designers to layout cafe spaces from the ground-up and design one-off pieces to fit those spaces. Taking spaces from simple blueprints to fully operating cafes, this experience gave me a real taste of the inner workings of design and small business. I confronted unique challenges head-on through innovative problem solving, which helped to expand my capabilities in a variety of fields. I was in charge of inventory and tool management, stocking hardware and furniture building materials in the shop so that my fellow fabricators could successfully accomplish their respective projects. I corresponded with vendors and iterated designs to fit specific spaces and limitations. I made design decisions for entire cafes, which included the approval of individual 3-D drawings for furniture items. Fabrication duties included everything from welding to installation of pieces. I was challenged with the planning for fabrication, design, and install processes for my team of fabricators and made sure to have all supplies and arrangements ready. I was praised for my craft, attention to detail, and fair judgment.

During my tenure with Adora Creative and Monachetti Films, I learned the ins and outs of independent film making on a commercial and targeted (wedding films) basis. I attended weddings and events, where I shot footage, assembled videos, social media teasers, and blog posts. I successfully collaborated with team members and provided necessary support on shoots and in the post production process. I used my creativity and tasteful-judgement to select music and stills, among other features for deliverables.

As an intern at Home & Design Magazine, I was able to combine my passions for journalism and interiors. During the experience, I was given the opportunity to have my first writing pieces published. My responsibilities included copywriting, copy editing text for both web and print, researching regional and national design trends, and contributing to team meetings through brainstorming and idea pitching. I was thorough in my work to research products and assistance with creating content for informative pieces on some of my favorite topics.

I worked as a multimedia contributor for the Writer's Bloc. During my time there, I brainstormed and pitched story ideas to the Editor-in-Chief and, when approved, planned, filmed, and put together pieces for the publication. I was one of two people who co-pioneered the publication's new "Tiny Music Desk"- inspired series. For that series, I corresponded with local musicians and artists to film live set performances, and collaborated with my teammate to edit together footage and audio. As a side responsibility, I was an acting copy editor for other writers within the Writer's Bloc, further preparing articles a number of articles for publishing.

As an intern for AARP's events team, I assisted with the planning and coordination of AARP’s semi-annual event, that year held in New Orleans. I used my clear and concise communication skills to correspond with vendors for the event. I gathered information from those communications in spreadsheets, which were shared with the events team. I even had the privilege to be called back, post-internship, to travel with the team to New Orleans to work the event. On event grounds, I provided assistance through organization, preparation, and communication with colleagues, attendees, and vendors.

During my time at the Office of Tourism Analysis, I contributed to the larger goal of performing research on Charleston, SC's tourist population. I conducted “man on the street” style interviews and distributed surveys to tourists as a means of data procurement. I attended tourism-related events to observe and analyze additional tourism data points. I worked closely with the Head of Tourism Analysis and a team of researchers to organize and distill data into reports and presentations. I created and maintained spreadsheets and other documents containing relevant facts and figures.
