Responsible for strategically developing and implementing hospital, regional, and system-level community betterment initiatives and projects to advance ARH’s mission of improving health and promoting wellbeing in Appalachia. Responsible for the direct oversight of the Community Development Department, including the management of Community Development staff, programming, budgets, policies, and procedures.Key duties include system-wide community benefit tracking and reporting, managing and tracking all corporate-level sponsorships, conducting triennial Community Health Needs Assessments, organizing programs and events at the hospital, regional, and system levels, and representing ARH on county, region, and state health and community boards and coalitions.

Responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring specific community health initiatives that are integrated with ARH's strategic plan for Community Development and each hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment. These activities include organizing programs or events with the goal of developing a healthier community; classes, presentations, luncheons, awareness events, school-based programming, etc. Works closely with staff from all ARH hospitals in the Big Sandy Region, represents ARH on health boards and coalitions, and is often an integral part of hospital accreditation processes.Responsible for tracking and reporting community benefit for the region, assisting with the development of hospital Community Health Needs Assessments, creating and maintaining community partnerships, and when necessary, presenting health and wellness content to the community.

Job responsibilities include planning, implementing, and monitoring community outreach initiatives that align with Highlands' mission of developing a healthier community. This includes organizing awareness or educational events, free health screenings, sponsorships, classes, support groups, and presentations. Responsible for Community Benefit reporting, Community Health Needs Assessments, management of in-school volunteers and Auxiliary, management of hospital gift shop, managing social media pages, and representing Highlands Health System as a member of various health-related councils and coalitions. I also train new employees about the importance of upholding our brand, service recovery, and providing excellent customer service. Managed Highlands' marketing, including creation of advertisements, website management, press releases, and internal needs.

Job duties include managing multiple non-profit programs including Safelink, CSBG Garden Seed Program, JET, SSI Representative Payee Program, CSBG Scholarship Program, and the CSBG Workshop Series. Working as the CSBG Program Manager entails supervising and training all CSBG staff, compiling yearly and quarterly reports of program outcomes for state agency and Board of Directors, and updating CSBG manuals, policies, and procedures. Other responsibilities include conducting and writing the annual Community Needs Assessment for BSACAP as well as organizing community meetings and events such as benefit fairs, job fairs, interagency meetings, and health fairs.

Duties included organizing community events including Christmas parties, wellness week, and employee picnics, monthly audits for health, dental, vision and life insurance, calculating employee commissions from the Loan Incentive Program, new hire paperwork, use of publishing software for flyer, brochure, and manual creation, ordering employee nameplates, badges, shirts, etc., scheduling interviews, maintaining log of applicants and resumes, and maintaining employee files.
