Danielle Edwards is a co-chair of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Appellate Advocacy Section, a co-chair of the Association's Professionalism Committee, an elected member of the Association’s Board of Delegates, and the legislative liaison for its Business Law Section. She also serves on various task forces and committees, including the civility taskforce that was created in 2022. She is a multifaceted litigator, representing clients in appeals that arise from a variety contexts, including commercial and business disputes, civil rights violations, complex family actions, criminal convictions, and child protection matters in Connecticut courts. She handles appeals, oversees complex legal motions in trial courts, and provides pre-appeal consulting to trial lawyers. Her work has addressed constitutional rights, conflict of laws, insurance, collective bargaining disputes, criminal law, breach of contract, other business and personal torts, family disputes, housing law, administrative law, probate matters, land use issues, and other topics. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Before founding 1818 Law, Danielle practiced with Connecticut firms in Hartford and Stamford, and spent five years as a legal research clerk for the Connecticut Superior Court. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she was an editor of the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal, received a merit scholarship, and was part of a team that successfully argued a habeas corpus claim for an imprisoned client. Danielle received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Washington. Danielle lives with her family in New Canaan, and is an active contributor to various local and statewide community service organizations and initiatives. She is especially proud to serve as a local Historian for the Daughters of the American Revolution in New Canaan, and in the Election Day Attorney Volunteer Program, in which capacity her efforts directly led to suffrage for Connecticut voters in the 2020 election.
