Since joining Lockheed, I've had quite a few challenging opportunities to support my growth as a design engineer. I started on NASA's Orion program supporting the Avionics, Power and Wiring group as a Mechanical Electronics Packaging Engineer. I helped the development of 5 series of boxes and lead the design for 3 additional boxes. On top of Orion, I also supported a 6U CubeSat development through PDR as the Structures/Packaging, Mechanisms and Configuration lead. As the design phase of Orion completed, I transitioned to the central Mechanical Electronics Packaging team continuing Orion support and adding GPS III, GOES and OPIR to my list.When the HLS (Human Lander System) base period ramped up, I took the opportunity to refocus on human space flight and exploration and joined the ECLSS (Environmental Control and Life Support System) team as the mechanical design lead until only a single HLS award went to a competitor. In late June 2014 I started work with Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO.In May 2014 I graduated from Iowa State University studying Mechanical Engineering and Languages and Cultures for Professions - German.Over the summer of 2013, I worked at Manitowoc Cranes as a Hydraulics Intern. I worked with Pro/Engineer to help design piping and hose systems as well as working some with Mechanica to determine the structural integrity of a hydraulic tank.In 2012, I spent the year abroad studying at Hochschule Mannheim (Mannheim University of Applied Sciences) for the first half of the year and interned at John Deere Werke Mannheim in Germany until the end of the year.
