The primary purpose of the position is to assist in the implementation, application and training of a Lean Manufacturing System, to reduce waste and improve efficiency throughout the job site. Other job duties are: •Develop OpEx Packages for every job position in every department of the plant•Organize and facilitate kaizens throughout the job site•Conduct problem solving training•Develop operator routines throughout the job site•Develop standards for Total Productive Maintenance throughout the job site•Develop standard operating procedures•Conduct 5s training •Lead 5s projects threw out the plant•Assist with collage recruiting and on site candidate interviews

The Alcoa Business System (ABS) is based on the Toyota Production System of Lean Manufacturing which provides a common language and unencumbered transfer of knowledge across the business. It focuses on serving customer demand by emphasizing the elimination of all waste and making what the customer wants, when the customer wants it.The primary purpose of this position was to eliminate waste and increase efficiency in the process area of the plant by applying ABS principles and teaching other employees how to apply these ABS principles. Other responsibilities were: •Plan ABS initiatives in cooperation with ABS Mgr •Train and coach individuals and departments in ABS principles•Organize and prepare ABS events•Follow up on past initiatives•Perform Gemba walks with department leadership and employees•Lead, coach, facilitate problem solving, 5S, connections and Kaizen events•Promote A3 thinking, provide support in A3 development•Daily Management•Standardized work•Rules in use•Ensure PDCA(Plan, Do, Check, Act) is performed in all improvement projects•Document and track ABS metrics•Create SWIs (Standard Work Instructions)
