Department team consists of 100 civilian and active-duty staff members. Maintain the Single Marine Program (SMP) aboard Camp Pendleton and MCLB Barstow including an executive board of Marines on three councils, recreational programming, quality of life advocacy and community involvement through volunteerism. Supervises all aspects of active-duty recreation aboard Camp Pendleton and Barstow including 10 Active-Duty Recreation Centers, 2 Single Marine Programs and an Outdoor Adventures program including budgets, hiring, discipline, programming, facility management, special events and maintaining oversight of $2 million in equipment inventory. Supervise the organization and implementation of a variety of special events. Serve as a member of the national level Single Marine Program Advisory Committee. Assist with the development and revisions of Headquarters Marine Corps orders, policies, directives and future program plans. Ensures programming offered in recreation facilities covered social, cultural, athletic, and recreational activities, performing arts, life skills development, competitions and social interactions. Develop long-range plans by establishing master plan for all recreation centers to include facility construction, renovation, maintenance and equipment refresh plans and the creation of facility inspection standard criteria. Analyzes cost, usage, and pricing, of facilities, programs, projects and develops strategies that meet or surpass patron needs. Exercised meticulous oversight, coordination, and timely execution of $30 million in capital improvement projects including facilities construction, renovations, and conversions of 11 active-duty recreation centers, and a fitness trail development project.
