Heatons was a boutique corporate and commercial law firm in the centre of Manchester where I worked as a paralegal assisting the Real Estate and Commercial Dispute teams.Working with the Real Estate team I assisted in managing landlord and tenant work and general conveyancing matters through to commerical developments and property financing. This included drafting contracts for sale, leases, licences to assign, deeds of variation and various notices. I prepared various applications to the Land Registry and HMRC such as registering charges, leases, transfers and restrictions and completing SDLT returns.With the Commercial Dispute team I assisted on high value, complex litigation matters between commercial and corporate parties. This included issuing applications in the High Court, preparing document bundles, attending at hearings and trial to assist Counsel, take notes and provide support to clients. I assisted in drafting particulars of claim, applications to court, witness statements, draft orders and also freezing injunctions.
